quotes

There's a lot to say about the meat-free diet, about stopping the suffering and slaughter of our friends, the animals, about the eco-slaughter of our planet, and we must get ourselves educated on the subject and speak out.

Vegan Dog Food

There are three vegan pet foods that I've tried. My dog liked them all right away but I hear some dogs can picky at first. You may have to gradually mix it in to their regular food until you're not mixing in any "meat food", just vegan food.

Ami Dog is a great food http://www.amipetfood.com/ - they also make vegan cat food and vegan dog bones. This product is made by a vegan company and Earths General Store, in Edmonton, carries this brand. If the pet store you shop at doesn't carry it you can contact Keith Hill, the Canadian distributor. Keith will try and get the store you request to carry it, his e-mail is keithgreenleafvegandist@gmail.com

Most stores carry the brands 'Technical' and 'Natural Balance'. Both have a dry and a canned food labeled vegetarian. I've looked at the ingredients to both and they appear vegan to me. I buy these brands at G&E pharmacy on 82 ave, in Edmonton, but I hear most pet stores carry both.

I like to support the Ami Dog Company. Vegan food is their sole business not a side product like the other companies that sell lots of 'animal by-product' food. This food is imported from Italy so it is a bit more pricey but the quality is better.

Remember the same people who tell you dogs can't be vegan are the same people who say people can't be vegan!
