There's a lot to say about the meat-free diet, about stopping the suffering and slaughter of our friends, the animals, about the eco-slaughter of our planet, and we must get ourselves educated on the subject and speak out.
Yeh I live just a few blocks away from this place, so when I walked by one day I dialed the number on the billboard to get more info. In fact, I interviewed the owner, Odette, and Way of Life will now be in the VOA Edmonton Vegan & Vegetarian Diner's Guide (out at end of Nov... more details to come)
Here's the basic info:
Way of Life is now open. It is 100% vegan french cuisine. Currently only open for lunches (11:30-2:00 p.m.) but she may open for dinners after Christmas.
The menu changes daily, but only one menu is served each day. Got that? What this means is that the menu is set. No choosing your entrée from a list of possible entrées: there is one entrée that day. Odette says this is because she was fed this way at home: her mom made one full meal, and if you didn't eat it, you didn't eat at all! But also, this allows her to buy the produce she will need each morning, so it is very fresh and full of life. No freezer or fridge at Way of Life!
Expect to stay for an hour, says Odette. She wants you to enjoy the atmosphere, savour each bite, digest well, and catch up with your company. When your body can focus on digestion, it will absorb the most nutrition from the food you are eating.
For $11.50, you get: - a salad - a soup - bread & dip - a fresh green juice - an entree - dessert - herbal tea
